Praia da Luz & Lagos,

Beautiful campsite. 5-star toilet/shower facility. Lovely restaurant/bar overlooking the large pool and large Jacuzzi set on a landscaped terrace. Live music a few nights a week. Excellent buffet available in the evening instead of the menu. Well stocked shop.
You can get a bus from the next village which is a few minutes walk away into Praia da Luz and there is a bus from directly outside the campsite into Lagos which is just 5 km away. You could walk into Praia da Luz but it is rather a steep hill coming back.
Praia da Luz
Praia da Luz has a lovely sandy beach with spectacular views of the cliffs and rock formations. The colours of the rocks change as you look out at them throughout the day.
There are bars, cafes, restaurants and a couple of supermarkets and tourist shops. It’s a small and quiet resort with a traffic-free promenade.
We got a bus into Lagos a couple of days and enjoyed walking around the old walled town looking at the lovely old architecture, browsing around the many of the shops which are aimed at tourists and stopping off every now and then at the bars/restaurants for coffee and lunch. It’s not particularly big and is easy to get around.
The main square is a really big area with a statue of Prince Henry on one side and an Old historic church on the other.
The waterfront is nice and there are plenty of seats where we sat in the sun and just watched the boats coming in and out. There is a small market lining the waterfront selling clothes bags etc. but no food items.
