Njivice is the newest-built town on the island of Krk in Croatia.
In the centre of town, there is a small port bordered by beaches on both sides. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes. We were lucky enough to visit when they had three nights of live music and firework displays. One night we watched from the bar overlooking the bay which had a great atmosphere and another night we took our chairs, wine, snacks and candles and sat on the beach looking over to the opposite bay to watch the fireworks and listen to the band. So far we are not as impressed with the island of Krk as we are with the mainland and Istria. We had read that Njivice holds lots of entertainment events in the open, especially in the high season when it can be every day. It was lovely to be able to walk out of the campsite onto the coastal path into the town.
There are so many amazing places to visit in Croatia that we sometimes hire a car.
